Crane Authentication launches new identity as De La Rue purchase completed | 28-05-2025 |

Crane Authentication, already a longstanding AIPIA member and Congress participant, has launched its new brand identity. This follows the recent takeover of De La Rue Authentication for $300m which is being aligned with Crane’s OpSec Security operation, purchased in 2024.
“By bringing together OpSec Security and De La Rue Authentication into a single unified business, Crane Authentication will be able to support government and business customers with the broadest range of technologies, solutions and services for authentication, online protection, tax revenue and identity requirements,” said Sam Keayes, SVP of security and authentication technologies of Crane NXT.
The company delivers tech-based solutions that enable customers to safeguard critical assets across physical and digital spaces. For business customers, it provides solutions that protect and enhance the value of their brands with online and physical solutions, enabling them to meet consumer demands for genuine products and services. For government customers, it contributes to protecting the public’s security, safeguarding citizen’s identities and generating tax revenue required to deliver the services and infrastructure that the public expects.
“As a partner to both businesses and governments, we are committed to driving transformative innovation for our customers,” said Richard Cremona, president of Crane Authentication. “Our customers trust us to help them address their many opportunities and challenges. These range from the rapid digitization of commerce and the spread of AI-enabled decision-making to the growth compliance needs and the need for governments to collect tax revenue.”
Security and identity for physical products: Using the latest optical, print and digital technologies, the company’s authentication solutions are easy to use but hard to replicate, it claims. They reassure end-users that their product or interaction is genuine. As traceability grows in importance, product integrity and identity are converging – with security and functional components spanning the physical and digital worlds.
Data-driven brand protection and intelligence: Crane Authentication’s advanced brand protection and intelligence services harness big data and AI to provide real-time, actionable insights. That enables businesses and governments to detect threats, mitigate risks and seize emerging opportunities.
“For our customers, the value generated by Crane Authentication comes from our 1,250 highly skilled associates, whose expertise is based on real-world experience, with expertise in R&D, security design, engineering and data-driven insights,” said Cremona. The company operates in 15 countries across three continents enabling it to meet regional differences in customer requirements.
