NEWS: Interesting A&IP Related Events for your Diary19-07-2017
Dateline Wednesday, Oct 4, our friends at Packaging Management and Packaging will be organize their first Food Waste Congress 2017 in Bussum, near Amsterdam. The congress topics will look at the prevention of food waste and the role that packaging can play in this.
The event begins at noon with reception and lunch. At 13.00 the plenary program will start from presentations of (inter) national speakers from science, technology and the food world and includes AIPIA’s executive director Eef de Ferrante. Proceedings will be chaired by Hester Klein Lankhorst, director of the Knowledge Institute for Sustainable Packaging (KIDV).
Between the presentations, there is a short ‘intermezzo’ with Puck Kerkhoven, culinary journalist and author of The New Clickbook (2014's most sustainable cookbook).
The program ends with panel discussions. Then there is a network ‘bubble’ from 17:00 to 18:00. The complete program and details of how to enroll for the congress can be found at:
Also in the Netherlands, on 29th September, will be the conference: Big-data & Interactive Packaging: Disruptive Innovations. Organized by member Across Consulting in Oss, near Eindhoven, the theme of the conference will be to show how ‘modern techniques will make packaging CEO-business’
Thesis: the arrival of new techniques on the market will make packaging interactive. This interactivity will disrupt existing organizational models and make them obsolete. New models need to be created. Packaging becomes CEO-business.

Plastics & Paper in Contact with Foodstuffs is organized by SmithersPIRA from 4 – 7 December 2017 at the Maritim proArte Hotel, Berlin, Germany.
It provides a forum for like-minded professionals looking to address topical concerns in the food contact industry and develop their knowledge on how best to comply with the latest regulations for plastic and paper packaging in contact with foodstuffs.
The conference will focus on the latest legislation, compliance case studies and pertinent issues of food packaging as well as information on inks, coatings and adhesives.
