NEWS: Aussies can Serenade and Slurp at the Same Time!30-07-2018
Whoever coined the phrase ‘Wine, Women and Song’ did not probably have a musically enabled wine bottle in mind. But our friends at PKN in Australia have discovered that an alcohol delivery company has partnered with Spotify to release a special-edition range of wines which can be paired with music.
The Songmelier Edition wines, from Jimmy Brings, each feature Spotify codes on the front label of each bottle. Consumers can scan the code using the Spotify app and play music designed to match each wine variety.
Into sparkling wine? It’s paired with Hip Hop, Bubblegum Trap and West Coast notes of Hustle and Grind. For a more refreshing palate, the Sauvignon Blanc is matched with Indie, Tropical House and Aussietronica – with a hint of Chillwave and an Electrofox finish. Shiraz lovers will be delighted by the smooth Jazz, raw Rock ’n’ Roll, soft Freak Folk and a Deep House finish.
Says Nathan Besser, co-founder, Jimmy Brings: “No dinner party is complete without wine and music, so we decided to help relieve the stress of hosting friends. The Songmelier Edition gives our customers everything they need to create a night worth remembering; perfectly paired wines and music.”
Sophie Paterson, head of communications, Spotify AUNZ added, “Great music and great wine go hand in hand so it was only right we brought the two together in this unique way. The Songmelier Edition allows Aussies to tap into Spotify’s rich catalogue of music to discover new sounds and genres for their next night in, or out.”
The range was launched by Aussie TV personality and music connoisseur Kate Peck in an interactive wine tasting. The three-pack Songmelier Edition wines are available to consumers in Sydney and Melbourne.
