New security label marries holographics with serialized QR codes

3DAG, a Swiss based member of AIPIA , specialising in security features using micro and nanotechnology, has announced the launch of SmartPack™holographic, tamper-proof security labels, based on its holography expertise, combined with another AIPIA member Scantrust’s serialized QR codes.

The companies have formed a partnership to develop this new brand and product protection feature.  SmartPack labels are ideal for tamper-proof use cases, according to the companies and are connected online using Scantrust serialized QR codes. This gives these labels the ability to connect end consumers with informational web content to engage one-on-one with brands.

There is a surge of activity from fraudsters and counterfeiters taking advantage of the massive growth in nonconventional supply and distribution channels during the COVID-19 pandemic, they believe. So companies are looking for innovative, quick, and cost-effective solutions to create confidence in their products and services.

SmartPack labels come in pre-designed holographic stock layouts based on the 3DAG Etimogram and can be further customized with a brand logo or text. Secure ordering and onboarding makes setting up the digital content for the labels easy, with setup time happening in days, not weeks, they both claim. Each order made on the 3DAG website will be personally verified by a member of its customer support team to ensure only legitimate companies are using the technology.

Digitalization doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult to implement. Nor does it have to be expensive. You can now be up and running with unit-level product digitalization and take advantage of all the benefits in less than a week and for a fraction of what a solution of this kind usually costs,” Says Martina Müller, 3DAG CEO.

“Our product digitalization platform and analytics dashboard are already being used by global Fortune 500 clients in several major markets. Through our partnership with 3DAG we are now able to empower smaller companies to take advantage of those same functionalities including active brand protection with the SmartPack label,” explained Nathan Anderson, Scantrust CEO.
