Disposable USB temperature data logger launched for fresh produce

Disposable temperature data loggers, as a key tool for cold chain monitoring of fresh produce, provide accurate records throughout the entire process, helping ensure quality and safety from production to retail. Tzone Digital Technology, a Chinese manufacturer of temperature and humidity monitoring devices, introduced the company's upgraded paperless TempU02A disposable USB temperature data logger at the recent Asia Fruit Logistica event in Hong Kong.

It is peak fruit harvest season in the Northern Hemisphere, with apples, grapes, blueberries, and citrus entering the market. Temperature management in cold chain logistics is crucial for ensuring product quality and extending shelf life. Any fluctuation can affect the freshness and market performance of fruits and vegetables.

"Our upgraded TempU02A supports up to 42,000 data records, with a service life of 120 or 180 days, providing long-term and accurate monitoring for fruit and vegetable transportation," said company spokesman Mr. Liao. The device is equipped with a highly sensitive sensor with a temperature measurement range of -30°C to +70°C and an accuracy of ±0.3°C, ensuring precise capture of temperature changes, it claims.

Its storage capacity of 68,000 records makes it suitable for long-distance transportation and extended storage. A specially designed shadow mode retains complete data reports even if the user forgets to start the device, preventing data loss.

"In terms of operation, users simply turn on the device to begin monitoring. After connecting it to a computer via USB, reports are automatically generated in PDF and CSV formats for easy analysis and archiving," Liao continued. "In addition, this product features an intelligent alarm function that allows users to set upper and lower temperature thresholds. When the temperature exceeds the set range, an LED indicator gives an alert: green indicates normal operation, while red signals an out-of-limit condition, helping personnel quickly identify issues."

The TempU02A has an IP67 rating, making it both dustproof and waterproof, so suited to the challenging environments of cold chain logistics. Its main applications include monitoring refrigerated trucks and containers, real-time cold storage monitoring, and supporting time zone programming for cross-border logistics, addressing the specific needs of international transport.

"Choosing the right temperature monitoring device is crucial for ensuring the quality of fruits and vegetables. We are committed to helping customers conveniently and accurately monitor temperature changes throughout production and transportation, enabling timely adjustments in cold chain management and reducing losses caused by improper control," Mr. Liao added.
