NEWS: Just Add Water – The Drink is ON the Cup!

Smart Cups, an innovative drinks manufacturer, has introduced some proprietary technology with a new product line of energy drinks. The pioneer of an exclusive 3D-polycapsule printing delivery system, Smart Cups transforms a virtually empty vessel into a self-stirring energy drink with just the addition of water. The technology has applications across a variety of industries , including food, pharmaceuticals and beyond, says the company.

Launching a range of four 9-ounce energy drinks: Tropical Recess™, Nerdy Lemon-T™, Pucker Up Brain Boost™ and Magna Cum Latte™, the company is poised to completely disrupt the future of beverage manufacturing and delivery, it claims. The technology enables printing of the flavour materials on the biodegradable cup.  To activate it the consumer simply adds water. The contents then turns into a zero calorie, sugar free energy drink.

The cup itself is made from eco-friendly, 100% biodegradable plant-based plastics for reduced carbon footprint. In addition the stackable design allows for storage efficiency and cost reduction for shipping and delivery.

CEO and founder Chris Kanik commented, "This delivery system is a scientific breakthrough that the food and beverage industry has never seen before."

"Putting the power of science into a cup, Smart Cups provides a more convenient, hassle-free and eco-friendly beverage experience for consumers. This delivery system print technology will become the new standard for a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, beverage, water purification and beyond," he claims.

Kanik created Smart Cups in partnership with Sal Celeste, CEO of The Additive Advantage and a leading voice for microencapsulation. Additive Advantage's globally patented (US pending) technology integrates micro-capsules directly onto the surface of a substrate, which is released upon contact with a liquid solvent. This allows for the delivery of a multiplicity of ingredients in one dose.

In future, Smart Cups will be releasing additional lines of beverages including sports drinks, coffee, teas, juices, protein drinks and more. Also, the company plans to develop a single-use water purification cup with the ability to filter contaminated water into safe-to-drink liquids.
