NEWS: Pharma Protection and Communication Platform Scoops Award

The SMART Packaging System delivered by AIPIA Member Talkin‘ Things® and MCC Label has been given an award for The Best Innovation in Patient Safety at the Pharmapack exhibition held in Paris recently. The solution provides a complex protection and communication platform for patient and medicine.

Utilizing innovative NFC (Near Field Communication) the patient can interact with the product by simply tapping the product with their smartphone. The mobile app displays information about the product, safety alerts, expiration date, dosage monitoring and reminders, patient support and side effect reports.

Based to the security of the system, the relationship between the app and tag confirms the authenticity of the product. So the tag system acts as a counterfeiting measure, as the tag communicates with the app when the product is opened.

The system delivers numerous advantages for pharmaceutical companies across security and logistics management, say the companies. Combining NFC and RFID technologies increases the range of benefits, which can be delivered. The system delivers solutions to highlighting parallel trade, temperature monitoring, real time stock-taking and track and trace. It is also possible to register sales of the product independently of pharmacies.

“We are extremely proud that the Jury of Global Pharmaceutical Brands has decided to reward our SMART Packaging System. It is a big distinction for us to receive an award for this technology. Delivering patient safety is the main aim,” explained Marcin Pilarz, CEO at Talkin’ Things®.

Talkin’ Things® is one of the first providers in the market to offer the complete end-to-end solution for pharma companies, from software through manufacturing and data management, it says.
